Surrey Teaching School Network

The Surrey teaching Schools Network (STSN) is an accredited provider for the new suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). The network comprises 20 Surrey Teaching Schools and has delivered National Professional Leadership Programmes to over 930 school leaders.

The reformed National Professional Qualifications are designed to support four levels of professional development for current and aspiring school leaders. They include:

  • The National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML)
  • The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL)
  • The National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
  • The National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL)

Each programme covers six core areas of learning:

Strategy & improvement

Teaching and curriculum excellence

Working in partnership

 Leading with impact

Managing resources and risk

Increasing capability

All four programmes are delivered through a combination of face-to-face days and facilitated on-line learning courses and are run by accredited facilitators and experience senior leaders/headteachers from primary, secondary and special schools.
